2018 Nissan Sentra vs 2018 Subaru Impreza

2018 Nissan Sentra vs 2018 Subaru Impreza

Though it was once classified as a subcompact car, and again as a compact car, over the years, the Nissan Sentra has grown to better accommodate both passengers and cargo. Nowadays, the Sentra is positioned as a mid-size sedan, as it comes in just above the limits for a compact car. Despite that, it still offers up the fuel economy ratings of a compact car, and is able to compete strongly with vehicles in the lower class, such as the compact Subaru Impreza.

To give you a better idea of what the Sentra is capable of, and to give you an idea of how it compares to the competition, we thought it would be helpful to take a closer look at the most recent 2018 models and see how they stack up against each other. Though they both have their own unique set of benefits, when you look at the tale of the tape, it’s clear to see that one of them stands high above the other.

Comparing the Nissan Sentra and Subaru Impreza

As you can see from the interior cargo volume that we have listed above, the Senta offers up close to three cubic feet more than the Impreza does. Typically, close competitors have cargo volumes that differ by a few tenths of a cubic foot, but here, the difference can definitely be noticed. This goes back to what we were saying about the Sentra having enough size to classify it as a mid-size sedan. Don’t let the larger classification fool you, though. As we also alluded to earlier, the Sentra is still a compact car in spirit.

One of the most exciting things about the Nissan Sentra is its fuel economy ratings. Combined, the ratings for the Sentra are three miles per gallon higher than those of the Impreza, which has a combined rating of just 27 mpg. This makes the Sentra ideal for commuters or for those who often find themselves on the road often. Not only is there more space for cargo, but the fuel economy helps to keep you from having to visit the fuel pumps quite as often.

With all of this in mind, it’s also important to keep in mind that the Sentra features a starting price that is far lower than the Impreza. If you are interested in taking advantage of that price, you will be sure to appreciate that here at Fenton Nissan of Legends, we have plenty of Sentra models that are marked below the MSRP, allowing you to save even more money on a new Nissan.
